I consider myself to be relatively new to this blogging gig. I call it a gig because I find myself compelled to write about so many things. I watch American Idol…I blog about American Idol. My kids driving me crazy…I blog about my kids driving me crazy. Some new movies comin’ out? I blog about it. And so on and so forth. It’s not a “job”, per se…but I’m finding there is a sense of responsibility to it. I’m hooked and I don’t know why.
So I’ve been out exploring other blog sites. I’ve tried hitting links on sites that I like, trying to find bloggers with similiar interests as mine. I try to find people who write the way I do (sarcastic aka smartass). I try to find any little thing that might be something new and exciting. And now I realize I’m trying to find the end of the internet.
Here’s the thing. I’ve been out searching. I haven’t counted exactly, but there have got to be roughly 400,895,634,234,546 blog sites out there on the world wide web. I’ve been to maybe half of them. Most of them I won’t revisit (quilts in Cambodia? Not for me). Quite a few of them I kinda like but don’t have time. The rest of them I love and will visit quite often! But now I STILL have a gazillion sites yet to get too! I don’t have the time or the energy. Seriously…have you been out there??? It’s crazy! People blogging about cows and kids and religion and all kinds of weird topics. Sites dedicated to hairpieces and shoes and your mother’s cooking. I can’t even imagine why anybody would have an interest in some of the things I’ve seen. But people obviously do.
Kinda strange…yet fascinating all at the same time.
So I continue to click, one site at a time. Don’t really know what I’m looking for or where I’m going, but I assume that sooner or later I’ll find the end of the internet and then I’ll have to start living my life again.
Or maybe I’ll just start over and revisit YOUR site again. Because I have no idea what you’ve been up too lately and I should have visited sooner.
Isn’t that what friends are for?
And to think I found your blog this evening doing that exact thing. Also fairly new to blogging and I am just clicking my way thru the entire friggin’ internet. I keep going and going and going and where it leads - who the hell knows. But I enjoyed your post!
