If you have a little girl (or are a little girl at heart), maybe you’ve heard of Fancy Nancy. She’s a dazzling little girl with a penchant for long words and a hunger for anything French. She is my daughter’s favorite character right now so this year Ava was bombarded with everything Fancy for her birthday…from books to outfits to trickets she wears in her hair. She really is a very cute character and we now own 4 books, a doll, a dress and multiple accessories ranging from makeup to slippers. Ava loves all of it and she is constantly walking around the house in heels (that are really loud on our hardwood floor), a flowing gown, lipstick that has glitter and all kinds of shiny rings or necklaces or bracelets. It’s all very girlie and I LOVE IT! Here are some pictures of Ava’s 4th birthday this past weekend. She’s my Fancy Ava…and ain’t she the cutest thing?

Even Christopher Likes Some Of The Accessories

Ahhhhh… What a cutie!
The dog with the glowing eyes is freaky. But the kid is sweet. Love the pink “hair”!
Don’t ever bring her to France: She’ll be crushed when she realizes no kids dress like that!
Her joy is palpable. The dog’s is less.
Barkley is used to the abuse. Do you use the word “palpable” when you talk? I imagine you as an eloquent speaker of multiple languages who always carries a camera around your neck and you wear a boa. Is this a correct image?
Oh oh oh, since we are talking about kid books: my favorite ultimate French book from 1959 has just been translated in English. I have not read it, but if it is half as good as the original version, it is brilliant. Here is a link (there is a whole series but this is the first one):

I don’t thin your daughter is old enough to appreciate the short stories but your son might.
It’s killer. You will not regret your purchase.
Daddy is obviously smitten with Ms. Fancy Ava…..and I love it when a daddy can get into and appreciate the wiles of his daughter.
Oh…she’s the apple of my eye. for sure!
I had no idea Fancy Nancy existed until 2 weeks ago, when my girl received a few of the dress-up things at her party. Then last weekend, I went to another party, and the birthday girl got a ton of it, and all the little 3 year olds were squealing. Me and like 3 other moms were like, ‘Who the f- is Fancy Nancy?’ There’s even a section of it at Target! Where have I been???
She is so adorable!
Fancy Nancy rules!
Better line up that second job now, she’s going to be a young lady of eclectic and perpetual desires and that can cost a pop plenty.
She not only looks worth it, but that she can easily handle the job of wrapping you around all of her fingers.
Sweet, sweet post.
