So today, after I got home, my wife, daughter and myself go to the International House Of Pancakes for breakfast/lunch. We sit down. Nice enough waitress. Order our coffee & chocolate milk (Ava NEVER orders anything but!) and everything is fine….until my wife orders her breakfast.
She wants an egg benedict for breakfast. Well…apparently they don’t have eggs benedict for breakfast at IHOP. I mean…it IS a pancake place…right? And the waitress didn’t even know what eggs benedict is! But what they DO have on the menu is a meal called a “Quick 2-Egg Breakfast”. So if Steph gets this meal, they can substitute out her bacon for ham and then get hollandaise sauce on the side. So…this sounds okay.
Once her meal comes, everything is brought as the “Quick 2-Egg Breakfast” says. Everything is placed in order. Nothing is placed as eggs benedict would be if it were placed as an order. But all the important ingrediants are in place. So Steph puts the egg on the muffin and then puts the ham on that and then spoons the sauce over her egg and VOILA! Eggs Benedict!
Then we get the bill. In order for her to NOT get what she wants, she gets the meal order, plus charged for the sauce, plus charged for the toast, plus she had to put it together by herself. So the cost for her breakfast was over $10…with coffee. THAT is nuts…
No more IHOP for me, thanks!
Ewww, I hate eggs benedict.
I know at the IHops by my house, the service is the worst. You wait an hour for food and the place is so cramped that the non-smoking section is reeking of cigarettes. The food isn’t even up to par. It’s decent. I’m with you on this one.
Well, it must have been that particular IHOP you went to because here in Austin, Texas all the IHOPS serve eggs benedict!
