I have to admit…I’ve been pretty happy with the quality of music this decade so far. There’s definately been a lot to choose from from all genres of music. I just happen to like alternative & rock the most! So here are my picks for the Top Albums of the 2000’s so far…

9. Funeral For A Friend – Tales Don’t Tell Themselves (2007)
Strongest Track: Out Of Reach
Weakest: The Sweetest Wave


8. Bruce Springsteen – The Rising (2002)
Strongest Track: The Fuse & Nothing Man (tie)
Weakest: Countin’ On A Miracle


7. R.E.M. – Accelerate (2008 )
Strongest Track: Supernatural Superserious & Hollow Man
Weakest: I’m Gonna DJ


6. Ryan Adams – Rock N Roll (2003)
Strongest Track: So Alive
Weakest: Anybody Wanna Take Me Home


5. Motion City Soundtrack – Commit This To Memory (2005)
Strongest Track: Time Turned Fragile
Weakest: Together We’ll ring in The New Year


4. Pete Yorn – musicforthemorningafter (2001)
Strongest Track: Sense
Weakest: June


3. Blue October – Foiled (2006)
Strongest Track: Overweight
Weakest: 18th Floor Balcony


2. Modest Mouse – We Were Dead Before The Ship Ever Sank (2007)
Strongest Track: Dashboard & Spitting Venom
Weakest: Fly Trapped In A Jar

 
1. Fountains Of Wayne – Welcome Interstate Manager (2003)

Strongest Track: Valley Winter Song & Bright Future In Sales
Weakest: Fire Island

So many others to choose from that I hate to leave any of them out, but these are the ones I’ve listened too the most! If you haven’t heard of ’em, please…check them out!

    I think R.E.M. – Accelerate will move off your list. The songs are catchy but get boring quick. Too early to tell.

    I disagree with you on 18th Floor Balcony…that song is beautiful. if you’ve ever caught them live, he sings it amazingly.

    Fair enough. I haven’t seen ’em live. But I would like too!
