Ava’s First Soccer Match

Oh what a beautiful day! The sky was blue, the birds were chirping. Sounds like a good day for a soccer match! And it was! Except…Ava didn’t really WANT to play soccer in the first half. She just sorta wanted to stand around and watch the ball being kicked around. But that’s okay…’cause she got into it in the 2nd half! Nicely done Ava! She didn’t score a goal…but she scored one in my heart! Love ya kiddo!

This was pretty much the entire 1st Half…

But then things got more interesting!

Ava bends it like Beckham!

The coach was very patient!

Goin’ after it!

Post-game ceremonies

All ready for next week’s game!

I love watching kids this age play sports. It’s usually hysterical.

Too cute! I loved watching Kasey play soccer when she was little, all the kids in a big huddle running after the ball. The kids (even the ones not on the team) LOVE running thru the “tunnel” after the game, and then of course they get to the best part…snacks!!!

    Oh yeah…snacks are HUGE!!!! LOL

I love how little kids ‘play’ sports. It’s so great to see their little personalities out on the field.
Love the little one-eye-open pic. So cute.

  4. When my son was that age, he preferred to pick dandelions and give them to his lady coach, rather than have anything to do with the actual soccer game. Sounds like Ava is WAY ahead of the game. GO AVA!

  5. So cute! I have a picture from my first soccer game at age 5. Everyone from both teams were running in a big group after the ball.

Some things never change! Thanks for coming by! I need to visit The Peevery more often. It’s taylor-made for a snarky guy like me…

    Aaaah. The post-game parent tunnel.

Dave and I would always joke that we would trip the most annoying kid on the opposite team . . . just for fun.

    One well-placed foot…
