I Love My ABC’s!

stuff-007

Down in Plant City, Florida, there is a tiny pizza shop that has the greatest pizza EVER! Well…actually it is a small chain of restaurants, but the one that I have now been too is the one in Plant City. It’s called ABC and I gotta tell you…that is some goooooood pie!

I think it is easily the best crust I have ever eaten! Light & fluffy, and not filling hardly at all! And I think they spread garlic on it, which makes it even tastier! I must have had 6 pieces by myself. My Mom & I shared a ham & olive, while my Dad gorged himself with a pepperoni & sausage. Tasty stuff! And needless to say, there was plenty to take back home…

And to wash it all down? Well…my Dad had my Coke after I decided I would rather have his water and my Mom made lemonade.

Yes…you read that correctly. My Mom MADE lemonade…right there in our booth. She didn’t ORDER lemonade. Actually what she ordered was a tall glass of water and a bowl of lemons. She then proceeded to squeeze the lemons into her water, she opened up several packets of sugar and dumped those into her glass and then mixed it all together to have lemonade.

When life gives you lemons…

I’m not saying it wasn’t good. And I’m not saying that it is exactly what it is. But I am all for NOT working when I go out to eat! I just order me a lemonade and I’m all done with it. But I look at it this way…Mom saved over $1.50 with her little concoction and it tasted all the same! So BRAVO to you, Mom! Way to buck the system! Now…if I could just figure out how to order a glass of water and some tea bags, I could probably make myself a nice, tall glass of iced tea…

Hmmmmm….

For shame, Alan! Mom HATED customers who brought their own tea bags and just ordered a cup of hot water at Mickey’s!

Also, that lemon bowl looks identical to our old salad bowls, doesn’t it?

  2. That looks delish! 🙂

  3. MOM says:

YOU’RE NUTS!!! The reason I do that is most restaurants fix powdered lemonade. I hate it!!! So I squeeze my lemons in the water, add a litt Splenda and…..lemonade. From REAL lemons. And as for you Mandy…. the customer ORDERED the hot water. I got my water because you always get water. Anyone who gets service (by that is ORDERING AN ITEM) should pay. The waitress has to get it for them and clean up after them. That’s why I charged the customer. He/she made the waitress work for them.Enough said………..mom

ok, so i see you got her all worked up lol, mom has been doing that for years, lol

  5. MOM says:

Not worked up. Just clarifying the situation. That woman would come in almost every morning, sit in the first booth, order a cup of hot water and nothing else! She didn’t even want a spoon. Therefore, she was using my water, gas to heat it, my waitress, my busboy, and dishwasher, all of which cost me, Kathy and Bonnie was complaining, so I told the lady, uless she ordered something from the menu, I would have to charge her a booth charge.(Since the law doesn’t allow you to charge for water). She didn’t, so I did. Everytime she came in. Dad and I have paid cover charges all our lives, so it is okay to charge a booth charge.

  6. @MOM –

I couldn’t agree more! If it was WITH something else from the menu, then it’s not a loss of profit in that seat… but to sit at an eating establishment/place of business and not pay said establishment for taking a seat is just wrong. You can’t go to a driving range, bring your own golf-balls and use that as a justification for leaving without paying for use of their facilities… it’s the same concept.

I also agree with your powdered lemonade thoughts, my mother taught me a thing two also.
    😉

By the way, since we are on the “powdered” subject… how much do you (or anyone reading this) despise POWDERED EGGS! I can not stand them, when I am at a breakfast buffet or a Hotel’s continental breakfast… yuck!

Sorry for de-railing the thread, from the original subject of Fresh Squeezed Lemonade!
    🙂
